QuantumBW

Fraunhofer IAF is part of the Quantum^BW office and is actively involved in the state initiative as member of its network, which brings together the members of the quantum ecosystem in the federal state Baden-Württemberg, Germany. With a roadmap, QuantumBW pursues the clear goal of bringing quantum technologies into application through close exchange between research and industry within Baden-Württemberg. Together, we are helping to improve areas such as health, mobility and climate protection and disruptively change markets.

Quantum^BW is jointly sponsored by the Baden-Württemberg Ministry of Science, Research and the Arts and the Baden-Württemberg Ministry of Economic Affairs, Labor and Tourism.

A strong location for quantum technologies

The innovation initiative Quantum^BW forms a strong network in which universities, non-university research institutions as well as leading high-tech companies and start-ups from the LÄND Baden-Württemberg pool their expertise.

Companies and institutions in Baden-Württemberg are driving the quantum revolution and transferring quantum technology research into applications.

The Quantum^BW booth at the Quantum Effects trade show in Stuttgart showcases groundbreaking quantum technology research in Baden-Württemberg every year.

Various networking formats have been established to promote the quantum technology ecosystem in Baden-Württemberg:

Quantum Effects: Quantum Effects is the international trade fair for quantum technologies, which takes place annually in Stuttgart, Germany. The Quantum^BW joint stand with almost 20 co-exhibitors from science and industry forms the center of the trade show.
Quanten-Roadshow: On the occasion of the International Year of Quantum Science 2025, Quantum^BW, together with its partners Photonics BW and the Chamber of Industry and Commerce, is organizing a Quantum Roadshow.
Developer Conference: At this annual event, members of the “Competence Center Quantum Computing Baden-Württemberg” (KQCBW) present the results of the five joint research projects in the KQCBW and the application potential of quantum computing for industry.

Training, further education and CPD in the land of the quantum

Quantum^BW Colloquium

Another key field of action for QuantumBW is education, training and CPD, in order to make the technology better assessable and usable in the future.

Training program: The institutes Fraunhofer IAF and IAO have developed a training program that offers unique application-oriented quantum computing trainings for developers, researchers and students.
Quantum^BW Colloquium: The Quantum^BW Colloquium on the campus of the Fraunhofer Institute Center Stuttgart aims to promote scientific exchange on hardware and algorithmic topics in the field of quantum computing.
